    Calories is a major subject when it comes to weight loss. We need to learn three things: the volume of calories in our food, the volume of calories a certain physical action uses up each hour, and last but not least our own personal daily limit of calories. I shed twenty pounds, it really does produce results!

    You’re 12 and still growing. You shouldn’t be worrying about it at all, especially since you are currently at a healthy weight. One can’t really say how much you “should” weigh at such a young age, since everyone’s bodies mature at a different rate, and yours could be at any stage of the game.

    As for how many calories you should be eating, you should eat when you’re hungry, and stop when you’re full. If you do that, you won’t have to worry about becoming overweight. Just recognize when you’re full and stop eating. Even if you’re halfway through a meal, you can always finish it in an hour or two if you start to feel hungry again.

    Assuming you are somewhat active (going to school, playing with friends, etc) anywhere from 1900 to 2200 calories a day should generally be appropriate, but on any given day you may be more or less hungry, and therefore eat more or less calories than that. It’s perfectly normal.
