How much should I weigh and how do I get there?

Motivated asked:

Hello, I’m a 22 year old female. I am 5’1 and weigh about 129 lbs. How much should I weigh and what are some healthy ways to lose a few pounds? My husband and I plan on trying to conceive soon and I would like to get rid of any excess weight beforehand. Thanks so much!!!

about 115 is what you should weigh.

Some advice : you need to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. The 45 minute thing is not true, but don’t over 60 minutes at a time.

Do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don’t look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Good luck and stick at it.

Your weight is ok actually, but if you wanted to lose a few pounds, this is fine, as long as you don’t go overboard. Maybe aiming for around 115lb – 120lb would be a good goal. Healthy ways to lose weight are to increase your protein intake and reduce your carb intake. Start jogging, swimming or cycling to tone up muscle, burn fat and speed up your metabolism. Good luck : )
